The Association of Business Travellers (ABT) takes the security of our
members and visitors to our web-sites information extremely seriously.
What does ABT do with the information gathered?
The information members or visitors provide about themselves is held securely on ABT's servers. This information is used to assist us in the development and publicity of new ABT services and provides the ability for our advertisers to offer you goods and services appropriate to your interests. Should any advertiser approach us and wish to make an offer to our members or web-site visitors it will be via our own email service, we will not release email addresses to any party unless required to do so by law.
The end result at abt-travel.com is that we use the information that we get from members or visitors to our web-site is for internal tracking purposes, to make the abt-travel.com as useful as we can, and to respond to requests for information or service. Except as specifically mentioned, we do not use members or visitors personal information for any other purpose and we will never release their email address to a third party.
Here is more detail on how we handle information we learn from members or visitors when they visit
When members or visitors visit abt-travel.com and move from page to page, read pages or download content onto their computer's,
ABT learns which pages are visited, what is downloaded, where our visitors come from (i.e. their domain name ???.com, ???.edu or ???.net ) and the addresses of sites visited immediately before arriving at abt-travel.com. However, none of this is associated with the visitor as an individual. It is measured only in aggregate.
ABT also use standard Web server log files, to help us count visitors and evaluate our site's performance.
ABT uses this information to find out how many people visit abt-travel.com, and it helps us arrange the pages in the most user-friendly way, keep the site browser-friendly, and to make our web-site more useful to our members and visitors. We record information on site traffic but not information on individual members or visitors to our site, so no information about you in particular will be kept or used.
Responding to Surveys:
When a member or visitor respond and submits answers or responds to a survey question with their opinion,
We learn their answer or opinion.
We use their response to come up with the survey results and, sometimes, to publish those results in aggregate on the site. We will never permanently record or report any response given on its own or connect it to the name or address. We hold these responses only as anonymous statistics.
When members or visitors send us an email to comment on something or ask us a question,
We learn their exact email address.
We use the email address to reply to the question, and we will store the email address for suture communication advising the person involved of updates to the ABT programme. We will never sell the email address to anyone else for such use.
Mailing Lists, Other Services:
When members or visitors give us their email address and/or other information and ask us to use it to provide them with specific communications or other services offered on the ABT site.
We learn their exact email address, any other information provided, and their request.
We use the email address and any other information given to us to provide them with the information or other services they have requested until they ask us to stop (using the 'unsubscribe' instructions provided with each email as we provide). We will not sell the information to any third party for such use.
Linking To Other Sites:
Please note that whenever members or visitors submit any information to ABT in connection with any service provided in connection with abt-travel.com, you consent to ABT's processing this information.
